Sentimental and Aspirational Clutter online course
This course has completely changed the way I look at my possessions. It's released so much energy and space, it's incredible!

Considering that for most of my life I have been either overwhelmingly stuck in the past or aspiring and acquiring items to live a fantasy future, I have to say that this course has helped me feel more available to the present than I can actually ever remember. I have had a VERY profound shift in my awareness.

I loved this course and the thought-provoking questions, amazing insights and sharing of the participants. It’s a deep dive into two underestimated topics that have such profound impact on our lives. It will be a game changer for many, many people.

This course feels akin to looking under the proverbial rug that we all sweep things under that we don't want to look at right now. Karen has helped me to lift up that rug instead of stepping over it, have a good look at what's underneath it, and sweep away the debris and cobwebs.

I am very thankful for this course. Karen’s guidance and everyone's posts and replies have been extremely helpful in navigating through my emotions and taking action with sentimental and aspirational items.

This course has made me very introspective. I look at my belongings, my time, and my relationships differently. I want to only keep the items that serve my needs, use my time wisely, and cherish the relationships that bring me joy and fulfilment.

Before this course, I had a hard time discarding any item that has an emotional attachment. It was eye-opening to me that these items hold me in the past. The course helped me a lot to let some of them go. I realized that I have quite a few possessions that I use frequently and would like to replace (such as a 30-year-old sharpener and a 20-year- old iron). I wish I had taken this course earlier in my life.

Thank you, Karen for another eye-opening course! When you stated that it “super charges” one’s clutter cleaning, you were not exaggerating! Using your peeling the layers of an onion analogy, this has helped me peel back another layer of clutter. I am looking at everything in my spaces differently and recognizing sentimental items that keep me stuck in the past or are purely aspirational (the aspirational ones give me a chuckle). Now that I recognize this category of clutter, I cannot unsee it!

I will never forget the impact this course has had on me and how it’s changed my life so radically.

This course more than paid for itself. As well as the €370.00 I gained from selling my unwanted aspirational books (philosophers I think I should read, finance books, cooking books, books on various health and fitness topics, and language courses), I also found €300.00 in a handbag I decluttered on the go.

I emptied my storage unit! Hooray! Many of the things I was storing were from my childhood home, and I moved them here after my mom passed away 12 years ago. I am on Spring Break as a teacher, and I never imagined this is how I would want to spend a week off. No beach could give my heart this degree of peace!

I realized even a jar of tapioca can become sentimental and aspirational clutter. It reminds me of the last time I saw my brother in Thailand, and I meant to make one of my favorite desserts eventually, but realized it only makes me sad because we have no contact and also I don’t seem to like tapioca that much any longer.

My eyes have been opened in a way I couldn’t have predicted when I signed up for this course. I’m seeing the items in my home in a completely different way now. What I’m perceiving as clutter is expanding every day as I clear more and more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It was quite surprising how easy it has been to let go of my old biology books. I was not able to dispose of them during Karen’s Clear Your Paper and Digital Clutter course. This one went so much deeper.

Even more surprising was identifying my six singing bowls as sentimental clutter and deciding to sell or donate them. They have been sitting there for 15 years without being used and survived many clutter clearings (clutter blindness at its peak).

This course has been so helpful for moving me through some really sticky areas of my house. There was a steep learning curve for me at first. It took me a while to "get it". Once I did, I have been waking up and looking forward to working through my sentimental and aspirational clutter. There is also just some plain old clutter in the attic.

This has been a profoundly transformational journey for me! I really enjoyed contemplating each step and reading everyone’s responses, some of which catalysed a spontaneous wave of clearing because a fresh insight clicked inside me!
